Was just there for dinner last night with my partner and the overall experience for my first visit there was great!
The taste of the dishes was surprising delicious and the freshness of the seafood was sublime! The attention to detail on each plate and the flavour profile was something that got my wanting seconds.
The cocktail was pretty sweet but overall well-balanced in a very presentable manner.
This first visit was short but definitely looking forward to the other visit that will come in the future. Perhaps a good cocktail session as well!
Kudos to the Lumo team for delivering such a well dinner experience!
This is a great place where you can enjoy chill conversations and also great for a catch-up session with friends.
The various dishes we ordered were delicious, and the quality of each dish was noticeable with good flavour throughout.
The cocktails were great as well and were all presented in a very tasteful manner.
It was my friends and my first visit and certainly not the last, looking forward to visiting sometime soon.
Shout out to the Lumo team for delivering on such a great experience!
Came here for birthday celebration. The food and atmosphere were perfect and we had a really good time there.
The fish liver was surprisingly good with sourdough and set a great tone for the night.
The sea bream was crispy on the outside and the sauce went perfect with it.
The aus pure black sirloin @ medium rare had a great texture and the herb-ice salad went unexpectedly well with the steak.
The burnt cheesecake was the perfect way to end the night - coming from someone who doesn’t usually like cheesecake their cheesecake is not as heavy as the others and the lemon cream w/ crumble goes super well with the cake.
All in all everything was super nice - would definitely recommend !!
Great food served in a cozy yet elegant environment. The servers are attentive and the dishes are tasty. The only thing is that the portions aren’t very big so it’s best to order a few dishes and share it.
I had a birthday celebration for my daughter with my son and nephew's wife. The services provided was excellence from the day i made reservation until the day i went for the dinner celebration. The food was awesome though for my kids it's not enough as they're in growing stage and eats a lot. As we shared the food around, so it's just nice for everyone. The atmosphere is wonderful. Thanks everyone for your excellent services expecially Joshua who personally called me to reply my enquiries before the actual day.
[Sep 2023] Intimate restaurant that serves modern European cuisine. The grilled octopus and prawns were pretty good, enjoyed the smokiness that came with the fresh seafood. Service was prompt and warm. Place is fully booked on a friday night, reservation a must.
A cosy and intimate restaurant with limited seating capacity (please make a reservation in advance like us) and dimly lit. I like that. Located at South Bridge Road (just opposite Legendary Bak Kut Teh), I think some may miss it because of their simple shop front, and the word LUMO on the window may not be catchy enough. So be alert and stop looking at your phone while walking.
1st order of business, order a drink. I happened to see Old Fashioned and decided to just go for it. Why? My colleague makes this drink herself at home and I wonder what draws her to it so much. It is a mixture of Maker's Mark, Demerara, Whisky Barrel Aged bitters and Angostura, with an ice and orange slice. This has a smooth aftertaste and I'm impressed.
Cantabrian Octopus Sous-vide with russet potato, Iberico Chorizo and Spicy Aioli - Never have I ever eaten such a tender, thin slice of octopus. Not too chewy and also bite-sized, which I really enjoyed. Say yes to Sous-vide because that is the reason why you get such tenderness and texture from the octopus slices.
Mediterranean Sea Bream with young potato, fennel, and storm clam veloute - Tasty and meaty texture for these 2 slices of grilled seabream. It came a little bitter on the skin but soaking with the sauce (with a tiny size of potatoes and celery) balanced it up. My friends and I loved this dish.
Can. Primrose Pork Ribeye with charred scallion and whisky-raisin - We were asked about the done-ness of this Pork Ribeye (yes you heard that) so got it well done because this is unlike the usual steak. It turns out pretty good, with a little charr-ness on top, tender lean meat, and not too dry. The sweetness comes from the raisins and of course the sauce. My friends were complimenting on their presentation. Indeed nice and atas, with those few stalks of charred scallions on the side.
Burnt Cheesecake with Crumble and Lime Yoghurt Cream - Their Burnt Cheesecake was good. So creamy without feeling the jelak-ness because you have it covered with nice crumbles and lime yogurt cream.
Chocolate Banana Fondant with Dark Cocoa Sauce and Sea Salt - At first, I thought it was a Lava Cake but after cutting it up, not very lava but passed the taste test. A mixture of chocolatey, banana-ey, and salty taste for this dessert. There is tiny banana flesh inside. Overall, I think I still prefer their Burnt Cheesecake.
Overall, it was a good dining experience although the price was kind of a tad too high (Total bill $200+). But it feels like fine dining to me so no complaints, given that the ambiance was to my liking.
This is a perfect place for date night where you can enjoy chill conversations and also great for a catch-up session with friends. The food is worth the price and are amazing ❤️ I love their song playlist and concept of the restaurant bar. It’s already been my fifth visit !! A definite must go
